Great heart warming story...Perfect for the holiday season..

He returns to the small town he grew up in, following a police case in his city of Chicago. Not realizing the danger that will follow them.
Then he meets Kara Brand and the sparks fly. Kara comes to love his son and falls for Jim..They face all kinds of obstacles..from family issues to kidnappings.. But eventually Jim realizes Kara is not only the mom Tyler needs, but the woman who can claim his heart..

This one was better than some of the others. They all sort of take on the same story line and a little less sex and more story would benefit. I can almost tell before it happens. Would prefer a little more intrigue.This book had a bit more mystery to it than the others.

Good Book

This book provided a useful overview of covert action throughout U.S. history, with a good examination of various activities in both the 19th and 20th centuries. However, I was disappointed that the book did not trace the post World War II legal history of the covert action statute as well as it could have (the Iran-Contra affairs is a good example of executive attempts to bypass the Congress and the resulting congressional push-back). The post World War II is probably best described as a period of increasing tension between the Executive branch and the Congress, with both the media and the American public taking on an important oversight roles and pushing for greater transparency/accountability. We have important issues today, with the convergence of CIA and military activities that raise important questions about the meaning of "traditional military activities," congressional reporting, and the impact on CIA culture over the past 15 years with the emphasis on "targeting." I would have preferred a greater discussion of legal issues post 1975 with greater details in the bibliography sections (there's lots of great law review articles that have been published). Nonetheless, this would be a very good textbook for graduate students trying to gain a broad appreciation for covert action as a tool of national security.

Tribal times...

This book is really fascinating, although a bit outdated. Personally I'd like Kulick to update this thing (if he did I'd give it a 5).

This book goes into detail about a particular tribe in New Guinea, from their rituals, religious life, to their interactions (while limited) with outsiders. Mainly it talks about how their society is changing because of their desire to modernize, which, because of their limited interaction with the outside world had (at the time) caused them to have very interesting religious beliefs.

Its a classic, and probably one of the best anthropological books I've read thus far.

As good as any in this genre!

If you are reading this review, you are one lucky person because it means you haven't yet read this incredibly well written book. I stumbled across this as the $.99 deal of the day for my Kindle and figured for that amount, how could I go wrong. Well, I would have gladly payed five times that for a book of this quality.

The writing is excellent as is the editing, something often overlooked in ebooks. The plot line is very tight, fast paced and the book is, unfortunately, over before you are ready for it to end. Character develop is exceptional and you find yourself being able to relate to certain people in the book. It is not some over the top, impossible to happen, espionage story but rather a well researched and well grounded story.

I read a LOT of books, on the order of 100 per years, almost always fiction, contemporary and in a variety of genres and have to say that this author goes into the exceptional category and I will be purchasing more of his work.

What a fantastic author, Well done Mr. Avitabile! Exceedingly well written and well edited, this author has written a winner, I was hooked from the very first page. This is a superbly crafted thriller full of intrigues, suspense and adventure. Mr. Avitabile was able to create a fascinating cast of characters, I could not put this book down,it held my interest until the last page! Do yourself a favor, read this book you will not regret it, I recommend it greatly.
