Awesome Read!!

I loved the analogies used to give a real life example and understanding to the specific topic at hand. I enjoyed the detailed description of the Whole Armour of God it gave much better understanding of each part we put on. This book caused me to admit out loud to God some things I wasn't ready to do, but to get my deliverance and peace from things in my past. Purposefully seeking to allow God to meet my needs...this resonated with me the most. Letting go of my control, not acting as tho I'm trying to do what God wants to do FOR me...I am getting that now and I'm slowly but surely doing it and in turn it has increased my faith in Him!! Can't wait to see what's next from this brother! Be Blessed!

A thought provoking primer to greater biblical learning

This book is a tremendous resource for someone like myself who wants to better understand the bible and how it relates to me. Although you could read it in an afternoon, I found myself re-reading passages and giving them greater thought and consideration. It's oblivious that the author is well-versed in the Word, but he is able to give it perspective that enables me to better grasp the meaning. It gave me food for thought. I have more to learn but Working Out What God Has Worked In is a great place for me to start.

I've never felt compelled to write a review but the ending left me dumbfounded. What mother on the face of this world whom trully loves her children would be more concerned over her futures lover's divorce than her newborn's welfare in the hands of a supposed looney. Just not realistic!!! I'm sorry this is not love story but a lust story.. suzett gave in way to easy let's be honest had Robert's wife given him passion & children he wouldn't have even recalled suzett's existence that is how he made it out to sound. The author made jacqueline look like a villian when she was trully victim of the heroes mistake. How was she to guess the guy whom seemed sincere in his proposal (at least that's the impression the so called hero gave in the prev book) was a complete player.

Masterful follow up

Rarely do I do this, because more often than not many books of the historical romance genre tend to follow a certain formula becoming too predictable, but in my opinion this unique book truly deserves a 5 star rating. Ms. Hopkins has continued the story of Suzette, Robert, Jacquelyn and Phillipe in a plot twisting heart-rending manner.

This book picks up five years after the ending of The Price of Innocence. Duke Robert Holland and his wife Jacquelyn are vacationing in Paris when an innocent stroll through the park and a chance meeting with Phillipe and young Robert takes place. Once again the course of destiny is changed in a moment.

Robert finds a way to deeply entrench himself in the lives of Phillipe and Suzette. He seeks her out to find out if Suzette bore him a son. Once again passions are rekindled when they meet. However, Robert and Suzette have underestimated the lengths both Jacquelyn and Phillipe will go to in order to prevent a happy reunion between the two lovers.

After years of being unable to produce an heir and suffering through the anguish of failure month after month Jacquelyn becomes a bit mentally unstable. She becomes a force to be reckoned with when she decides on revenge. Phillipe recently had a daughter (Angelique) with Suzette, and he is determined to keep Robert and Suzette apart. He lives in fear Robert will try to take his wife and daughter away from him. Since Robert has stolen Phillipe's honor, business, and is threatening to steal his wife and family, Phillipe is also bent on revenge. Having finally been pushed to his breaking point, Phillipe boldly challenges Robert to a duel. He envisions killing Robert and ridding his life from his tormentor for good. Robert agrees to the duel with much trepidation. The outcome of the duel will forever change the lives of everyone.

I highly recommend The Legacy Series. The first two books have been a whirlwind emotional roller coaster. Ms. Hopkins has done a wonderful job with these books. I look forward to reading the final book that will tie up all the hanging loose ends from the story.

The book will NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! I enjoyed every bit of it. You will cheer for Suzette and Robert ( even though she is married) you want them together. It does have some very hot steamy scenes though.

CAMICO The CPA's Guide to Effective Engagement Letters was compiled and edited with resources from CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company. The project, initiated in 1996, commemorated CAMICO's 10th anniversary. The company's continued commitment to providing insurance and risk and practice management services to the accountancy profession enabled CAMICO to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2011, and the company is planning for its 30th anniversary in 2016. CAMICO is a unique mutual insurance company in that it was created by CPAs for CPAs. In the mid-1980s, California CPAs were faced with a mounting liability insurance crisis. Many insurance carriers discontinued their professional liability insurance for CPAs, and those that continued to offer insurance did so at extremely high rates. At that point the California Society of CPAs convened a task force to study the situation. The task force recommended the creation of a mutual insurance company for the CPA profession a company dedicated to assuring its members of professional liability coverage at stable rates. Additionally, the task force recommended that any excess funds be returned to policyholders after the payment of claims and operating costs. Thus, in June 1986, CAMICO was born. That year California CPAs contributed $5 million to found a company that CPAs would continue to direct after nearly three decades of operation. CAMICO would eventually grow from $5 million in loans to $92 million in assets by 2014. Policyholder contributions were paid back in full with interest by 1998, and CAMICO began declaring policyholder dividends, eventually returning more than $30 million to policyholders by 2001. The number of CAMICO policyholders grew over 29 years from about 1,400 CPA firms to more than 8,400. About the Author
Ric Rosario, CPA, CFE, CGMA, became CEO and President of CAMICO in 2009. Since then he has seen the company grow from about 7,300 policies to more than 9,000. Prior to becoming CEO, he was executive vice president of risk management, with executive oversight of underwriting, claims, marketing and communications for the company. Rosario joined CAMICO in 1992, primarily focused on CPA risk management, and was promoted to vice president in 1996 and to executive vice president in 2006. Rosario s public accounting background is in the audit division of the regional firm of John F. Forbes & Co. He later joined a start-up real estate venture as controller and completed his tenure there as chief financial officer. For many years Rosario was a part-time lecturer on accounting at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, Calif. He earned a bachelor s degree in accounting at Saint Mary s College in Moraga, Calif. Several of his articles have appeared in national publications, and he co-authored the CCH-published books CPA s Guide to Loss Prevention Practices and CPA s Guide to Effective Engagement Letters. Rosario is active with many state society and national committees and is a frequent speaker on CPA liability. Ron Klein, JD, CFE, is Risk Management Counsel at CAMICO. He has been with CAMICO since its inception in 1986 and managed the claims department for 20 years. In his current role, he leverages his extensive knowledge and expertise of CPA professional liability issues to help CAMICO policyholders practice sound risk management, which can help them avoid or mitigate claims. Klein also serves as a resource to CAMICO staff. He is a frequent speaker, and his primary responsibilities include risk management focused CPE (through both webcasts and speaking events), and developing loss prevention content and tools for policyholders. Educated as an accountant and attorney, Klein holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University in Los Angeles. Prior to joining CAMICO, he was a controller, a practicing attorney, and a vice president of finance in the real estate syndication industry. Klein is a Certified Fraud Examiner and co-author of the book CPA s Guide to Effective Engagement Letters. Suzanne M. Holl, CPA, is Senior Vice President of Loss Prevention Services of CAMICO. With more than 18 years of experience in accounting, she draws on her Big Four public accounting and private industry background to provide CAMICO s policyholders with information on a wide variety of loss prevention and accounting issues. A licensed CPA in the state of California, Holl graduated with a bachelor s degree in accounting from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Her background includes health care administration in the fields of accounting, benefits administration, and human resources. Holl was also director of employee benefits and health services at a large children s hospital, based in Fresno. She is a frequent speaker, and several of her articles have appeared in national publications. Holl co-authored the CCH-published book, CPA s Guide to Effective Engagement Letters.

Kiss of Life a Tease for more.

I love these books, putting vampires with God's message of redemption would Seem to be like mixing oil and water. Instead it is like mixing a sweet cream with a tart berry.

The short story ends a bit abruptly and leaves you wanting to know more, for this is only a glimpse to what their story could be. Still I enjoyed it.

Interesting, but doesn't tell me much

A very short addition to the trilogy, telling a bit of the back story of the Baron. It was too short, however, and really didn't answer any questions. It was interesting to see a bit of where he came from, but the glimpse was so tiny that I didn't feel it really added much to my overall understanding of the characters or the story. In fact, it took me the entire reading to even remember who the Baron was and why I was even reading about him. I wish it had been longer.

I tend to dislike these sorts of publications because they seem to be just ploys for more money. Even at $.99 on Kindle, I felt like it was a bit much for just a 40-or-so-page read that didn't add anything to the story. If you really fee compelled to tell a tiny tidbit of a minor character's story, why not put it in the epilogue of the previous book? Or even the prologue of the next one? I couldn't get it out of the library so I just paid my dollar and read it. Whatever.

About the Author
THEODORE L. BROWN received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1956. Since then, he has been a member of the faculty of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he is now Professor of Chemistry, Emeritus. He served as Vice Chancellor for Research, and Dean, The Graduate College, from 1980 to 1986, and as Founding Director of the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology from 1987 to 1993. Professor Brown has been an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Research Fellow and has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. In 1972 he was awarded the American Chemical Society Award for Research in Inorganic Chemistry, and received the American Chemical Society Award for Distinguished Service in the Advancement of Inorganic Chemistry in 1993. He has been elected a Fellow of both the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

H. EUGENE LEMAY, JR., received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Pacific Lutheran University
(Washington) and his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1966 from the University of Illinois (Urbana). He then joined the faculty of the University of Nevada, Reno, where he is currently Professor of Chemistry, Emeritus. He has enjoyed Visiting Professorships at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, at the University College of Wales in Great Britain, and at the University of California, Los Angeles. Professor LeMay is a popular and effective teacher, who has taught thousands of students during more than 35 years of university teaching. Known for the clarity of his lectures and his sense of humor, he has received several teaching awards, including the University Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award (1991) and the first Regents’ Teaching Award given by the State of Nevada Board of Regents (1997).

BRUCE E. BURSTEN received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in 1978. After two years as a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at Texas A&M University, he joined the faculty of The Ohio State University, where he rose to the rank of Distinguished University Professor. In 2005, he moved to his present position at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Professor Bursten has been a Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation Teacher-Scholar and an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Research Fellow, and he has been elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. At Ohio State he has received the University Distinguished Teaching Award in 1982 and 1996, the Arts and Sciences Student Council Outstanding Teaching Award in 1984, and the University Distinguished Scholar Award in 1990. He received the Spiers Memorial Prize and Medal of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2003, and the Morley Medal of the Cleveland Section of the American Chemical Society in 2005. He was elected President of the American Chemical Society for 2008. In addition to his teaching and service activities, Professor Bursten's research program focuses on compounds of the transition-metal and actinide elements.


CATHERINE J. MURPHY received two B.S. degrees, one in Chemistry and one in Biochemistry, from the
University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 1986. She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in 1990. She was a National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology from 1990 to 1993. In 1993, she joined the faculty of the University of South Carolina, Columbia, where she is currently the Guy F. Lipscomb Professor of Chemistry. Professor Murphy has been honored for both research and teaching as a Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar, an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Research Fellow, a Cottrell Scholar of the Research Corporation, a National Science Foundation CAREER Award winner and a subsequent NSF Award for Special Creativity. She has also received a USC Mortar Board Excellence in Teaching Award, the USC Golden Key Faculty Award for Creative Integration of Research and Undergraduate
Teaching, the USC Michael J. Mungo Undergraduate Teaching Award, and the USC Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor Award. Since 2006, Professor Murphy has served as a Senior Editor to the Journal of Physical Chemistry. Professor Murphy’s research program focuses on the synthesis and optical properties of inorganic nanomaterials, and on the local structure and dynamics of the DNA double helix.

PATRICK M. WOODWARD received B.S. degrees in both Chemistry and Engineering from Idaho State University in 1991. He received a M.S. degree in Materials Science and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Oregon State University in 1996. He spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Physics at Brookhaven National Laboratory. In 1998, he joined the faculty of the Chemistry Department at The Ohio State University where he currently holds the rank of Associate Professor. He has enjoyed visiting professorships at the University of Bordeaux, in France, and the University of Sydney, in Australia. Professor Woodward has been an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Research Fellow and a National Science Foundation CAREER Award winner. He currently serves as an Associate Editor to the Journal of Solid State Chemistry and as the director of the Ohio REEL program, an NSF funded center that works to bring authentic research experiments into the laboratories of 1st and 2nd year chemistry classes in 15 colleges and universities across the state of Ohio. Professor Woodward’s research program focuses on understanding the links between bonding, structure and properties of solid state inorganic functional materials.

IF YOU NEED THE 12 EDITION BUY THE 11TH!!!!

I transferred schools and I needed Chemistry: The Central Science for Chem II. The class listed that I needed the 12th edition but they also gave us Mastering Chemistry for free so I figured would just use the E-Book. It turned out to be a pain so about five weeks into the semester I decided I needed a hard copy of the book and decided to check the difference between editions. These are literally the same book with exception to Ch. 22 & 23 in 11E and Ch. 23 in the 12E. Most of Ch.23 in 12E is Ch. 23 with parts of Ch. 22 in 11E, you just have to know where you are supposed to be. Also Ch.25 in 11E is Ch.24 in 12E.

Even all of the end of chapter exercises are the same in 11E as 12E just numbered differently and some in different order, but all within the same section. There are some that vary slightly, usually just values, but I'd say 97% are the same. Not all of the sample questions are identical either throughout the chapter but most are.

This is a great chemistry book, it is very easy to read and understand and if you put in the work you will see results. Buy the Student's Guide and Solutions To Exercises (all exercises) and you will have no problems with this course.

LASTLY: BUY 11e OVER 12e!!!!!! I paid just under $40 TOTAL (including shipping) for the 11e text, Student's Guide, and Solutions To Exercises (all exercises). These books would run me almost $500 at the university bookstore and probably $300 by looking around online.

LASTLY: BUY 11e OVER 12e!!!!!! I paid just under $40 TOTAL (including shipping) for the 11e text, Student's Guide, and Solutions To Exercises (all exercises). These books would run me almost $500 at the university bookstore and probably $300 by looking around online.

Super introduction

First, make sure if you buy it used, it is explicitly stated that the CD-ROM is included. I LOVE this book. I am a homeschooling mother with a M.S. in chemistry. My daughter is gaining excellent comprehension. The text does a very good job of integrating concepts throughout the chapters. I found the ninth edition (which some of my homeschool students have) to be essentially the same with the aggravation of slight changes in the homework sets (to make college students buy expensive new books each year!)Solutions manuals are obtainable used, as well.
